2019 Chevrolet Equinox

Performance

Between the Jeep Cherokee vs. Chevy Equinox, which vehicle packs a punch? The Chevy Equinox has a basic 1.5L turbo engine with up to 170 lb when paired with a standard 6-speed transmission. The Jeep Cherokee takes performance up a notch with its 180-hp 2.4L I4 MultiAir Engine and 9-speed automatic transmission. You can even spring for an optional 271-hp V6 for an extra boost of horsepower!

Towing

What about towing capabilities? As you might guess, the Jeep Cherokee specs once again blow the Chevy Equinox out of the water. The Cherokee can tow up to 4,500 pounds when properly equipped. The Equinox tops out at 3,500 pounds. If you're planning to do any heavy lifting, save yourself some stress and choose the Jeep Cherokee.

Suspension

If you want a vehicle that can handle rough road conditions with ease, you might prefer the security of the Jeep Cherokee specs. The Cherokee was built with front and rear stabilizer bars, which will keep your vehicle in control when tackling hard corners. Plus, drift compensation steering keeps the car straight when dealing with unstable driving surfaces. The Equinox doesn't offer a rear stabilizer bar or drift compensation steering, so you'll have to drive with a little extra caution.
