2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Configurations
The 2022 model year was the second-to-last for the Challenger, and the Hellcat lineup was at its widest: six configurations from the 717-hp manual-transmission SRT Hellcat to the 807-hp Super Stock. Here is how they differ and what matters when you shop for one today.

Quick answer
For 2022 Dodge sold the Challenger SRT Hellcat in six forms. The SRT Hellcat (717 hp) came with a standard Tremec six-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic and could be ordered as a Widebody, which added 3.5 inches of width and 305-section Pirelli tires on 20x11-inch wheels. The SRT Hellcat Redeye (797 hp, automatic only) was also available as a Widebody, and from December 2021 the Redeye Widebody could be ordered with the Jailbreak package, which unlocked previously restricted color and trim combinations and raised output to 807 hp. The SRT Super Stock was the drag-focused halo: 807 hp, 18x11-inch wheels on Nitto drag radials and a 10.5-second quarter mile. Challenger production ended in 2023, so all of these are used cars now.
The six configurations
| Configuration | Engine and output | Transmission | What sets it apart |
|---|---|---|---|
| SRT Hellcat | Supercharged 6.2L HEMI V-8, 717 hp | Tremec 6-speed manual standard; TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic optional | The base Hellcat and the only one with a manual gearbox |
| SRT Hellcat Widebody | 717 hp | Manual or automatic | Fender flares add 3.5 in. of width; 20x11-in. wheels, 305/35ZR20 Pirelli tires, electric power steering with SRT drive modes |
| SRT Hellcat Redeye | High-output supercharged 6.2L, 797 hp | TorqueFlite 8HP90 automatic only | Larger supercharger, higher boost, uprated cooling and driveline |
| SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody | 797 hp | Automatic only | Redeye engine with the Widebody chassis; the most common Redeye on the used market |
| Redeye Widebody Jailbreak | 807 hp (revised calibration) | Automatic only | Jailbreak package opened more than 20 option categories, exclusive Hammerhead Grey Laguna leather and badging |
| SRT Super Stock | 807 hp | Automatic only | Drag-tuned suspension, Brembo four-piston brakes, 18x11-in. wheels with 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R drag radials, 0-60 in 3.25 s, 10.5 s quarter mile at 131 mph, 168 mph tire-limited top speed |
Widebody or narrow body
The Widebody is the one to drive if you corner. The wider tires raise grip at both ends and the electric steering is calibrated for it; it also fills the arches, which is why most buyers chose it. The narrow-body SRT Hellcat is lighter by a small margin, rides on 275-section tires and is the one that pairs with the manual gearbox in its purest form. Resale has favored Widebody cars and anything with a manual.
Shopping for a used Hellcat
- Ask for the build sheet. Jailbreak cars and Super Stocks are identified by option codes, not just badges; a Jailbreak also has unique instrument panel badging.
- Check the tires. 305-section Pirellis and drag radials wear fast; a set is a four-figure bill and tells you how the car was driven.
- Look at the supercharger and intercooler coolant service history and the rear differential fluid. Hard launches shorten both intervals.
- Confirm both key fobs are present. The red key unlocks full output; the black key limits it.
- Pull the SRT Performance Pages data if the seller allows it: launch counts and best times are stored in the car.
- Have our service department do a pre-purchase inspection; our technicians service Hellcats and stock the fluids and brake parts.
What replaced it
Dodge ended Challenger and last-generation Charger production in December 2023. The new Charger, built in Windsor, Ontario, comes as a two-door coupe or four-door sedan with standard all-wheel drive. The gas Charger Sixpack uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six: 420 hp in the R/T and 550 hp in the Scat Pack, which Dodge quotes at 3.9 seconds to 60 mph. The electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack makes 670 hp. The lineup was named 2026 North American Car of the Year in January 2026. If you want a supercharged V-8 under the hood, a used Hellcat is the way to get one.
