The choice is mostly about cab choices, equipment and price. In Ram's 2027 configurator data a 4x4 Crew Cab with the 6-foot-4 box lists at $58,340 MSRP as a Big Horn, $66,425 as a Laramie and $78,725 as a Limited. The Laramie is also the lowest-priced 2500 trim offered as a Mega Cab ($80,435).

The Laramie Mega Cab row is from Ram's preliminary 2027 Ram 2500 towing charts, which also list that truck at 9,900- and 10,000-lb GVWRs with lower ratings. Ratings depend on cab, box, axle ratio, GVWR and options; the door-jamb label on each truck lists its own payload, and we can look up the trailer rating for the exact truck you choose.

New for the 2027 Ram 2500 Laramie
Ram's What's New for 2027 release says Laramie models gain expanded RamBox availability and new optional body-color fender flares.
A new Payload Upgrade Package, available on most 2500s with the 6.4L HEMI V8 including the Laramie, raises GVWR from 10,000 to 11,040 lbs with a 3500 frame, leaf springs and an anti-spin rear differential. Ram lists it at $835 MSRP and quotes a best-in-class 2500 payload of 4,580 lbs.
HEMI-powered heavy-duty trucks also get a new V8 fender badge, and the Sport Appearance and Night Edition packages are now offered on Level 1 and Level 2 equipment groups. New colors include Serrano Green Metallic and Tank Clear-Coat, both with late availability.
