Jeep Compass Fuse Box Guide
The 2026 Jeep Compass has fuses in up to three places: the Front Power Distribution Center under the hood, an interior fuse panel on the driver's side under the instrument panel, and, if equipped, a rear cargo fuse/relay unit. Here is where each one is, how to check and replace a fuse, and which fuses cover common items, from the Compass owner's manual.

The short answer
The 2026 Compass's main fuse box, the Front Power Distribution Center, is in the engine compartment, and the fuse cavity locations are printed inside its cover. The interior fuse panel is on the driver's side under the instrument panel lower cover, and vehicles that have one carry a rear cargo fuse/relay unit behind the storage bin in the left rear panel of the cargo area. Turn the ignition off before replacing a fuse, and use only a fuse with the same amp rating.
Where the Jeep Compass fuse boxes are
Front Power Distribution Center
In the engine compartment. It contains fuses and relays, and the fuse cavity locations are printed on the inside of the power distribution center cover.
Interior fuse panel
On the driver's side under the instrument panel lower cover. It holds blade fuses for items such as the power windows, door locks and washer pump.
Rear cargo fuse/relay unit (if equipped)
To reach it, remove the storage bin from the left rear panel of the rear cargo area. It may contain two fuse holders: No. 1 closest to the rear of the vehicle, and No. 2 (if equipped with trailer towing) closest to the front.
Putting the cover back
When installing the power distribution center cover, make sure it is properly positioned and fully latched. The manual warns that otherwise water may get into the power distribution center and possibly cause an electrical system failure.
From the 2026 Jeep Compass Owner's Manual (Fuse Location; Power Distribution Center/Fuses; Interior Fuses; Rear Cargo Fuse/Relay Distribution Unit, pages 208, 213 and 215), read November 3, 2026.
How to check and replace a Compass fuse
The manual says fuses protect electrical systems against excessive current. When a device does not work, check the fuse element inside the blade fuse for a break or melt; the manual's illustration compares a good (functional) fuse element with a blown (not functional) one. Its rules for replacing one:
- Before replacing a fuse, make sure the ignition is off and that all the other services are switched off and/or disengaged.
- Always use a replacement fuse with the same amp rating as the original. Never use a fuse with a higher amp rating.
- Never replace a blown fuse with metal wires or any other material, and do not place a fuse inside a circuit breaker cavity or vice versa.
- If the replaced fuse blows again, contact an authorized dealer.
- If a general protection fuse for safety systems (air bag system, braking system), power unit systems (engine system, transmission system) or the steering system blows, contact an authorized dealer.
The manual warns that failure to use proper fuses may result in serious personal injury, fire and/or property damage. It also notes that using power outlets for extended periods with the engine off may discharge the vehicle battery.
From the 2026 Jeep Compass Owner's Manual (Fuses: General Information, warnings, page 207; Blade Fuses illustration, page 208), read November 3, 2026.
