Jeep Wrangler Fuse Box Guide

On the 2026 Jeep Wrangler, the fuses are in the Power Distribution Center under the hood, near the battery, and the top cover is labeled with each serviceable fuse. Here is where to look, how to check and replace a fuse, and which fuses cover common items, from the Wrangler owner's manual's gasoline engine and hybrid (4xe) fuse charts.

The short answer

The 2026 Wrangler's Power Distribution Center is in the engine compartment near the battery. It holds cartridge fuses, mini fuses and relays, and its top cover is labeled with each serviceable fuse or relay location, function and size. To check a fuse, turn the ignition off, pull it and look for a break or melt in the element; replace it only with a fuse of the same amp rating, and see your dealer if it blows again.

Where the Jeep Wrangler fuse box is

The manual says the Power Distribution Centers (PDC) are in the engine compartment near the battery. The center contains cartridge fuses, mini fuses and relays, and the PDC top cover is labeled with each serviceable fuse or relay location, function and size.

The manual prints separate fuse charts for gasoline engine Wranglers and for hybrid (4xe) models, so use the chart that matches your Jeep. When you put the cover back, make sure it is properly positioned and fully latched; the manual warns that a loose cover may let water into the power distribution center and could cause an electrical system failure.

How to check and replace a Wrangler fuse

When a device does not work, the manual says to check the fuse element inside the blade fuse for a break or melt. To replace one:

  1. Turn the ignition off and switch off or disengage everything else before you replace a fuse.
  2. Find the fuse in the chart for its center. Each fuse is listed by cavity number, rating and the circuit it protects.
  3. Pull the fuse and look at the metal element inside the blade fuse. A good fuse has an unbroken element; a blown fuse has a break or melt in it.
  4. Replace a blown fuse only with one of the same amp rating. Never use a higher-rated fuse, and never use metal wire or any other material in place of a fuse.
  5. Refit the cover so it is properly positioned and fully latched, which keeps water out of the power distribution center.

If the replacement fuse blows again, or if a general protection fuse for a safety system (air bag or braking system), a power unit system (engine or gearbox system) or the steering system blows, the manual says to contact an authorized dealer. If a properly rated fuse keeps blowing, it indicates a problem in the circuit that must be corrected.

Wrangler trailer tow fuses

On Wranglers equipped for towing, both charts list these trailer wiring fuses:

F10720 Amp Yellow (micro)Trailer tow stop/turn, left
F10920 Amp Yellow (micro)Trailer tow stop/turn, right
F11120 Amp Blue (cartridge)Trailer tow backup

From the 2026 Jeep Wrangler Owner's Manual, Gasoline Engine Fuses and Hybrid Fuses charts, read November 3, 2026. Both charts also list F36 (30 Amp Pink, trailer tow electric brake module) and F37 (30 Amp Pink, 7-way trailer tow connector), marked if equipped in the gasoline engine chart.

Wrangler power outlets and their fuses

The front power outlet is in the center of the instrument panel below the climate controls and is powered from the ignition switch, so it works with the ignition in ON/RUN or ACC. On vehicles equipped with a rear subwoofer, a second power outlet in the rear cargo area is powered directly from the battery. The manual describes them as 12 volt (13 amp) auxiliary power outlets.

The fuse chart notes that the cargo power outlet can be switched from battery-fed power at F43 to position F45, which is fed when the ignition is ON. The manual also cautions that accessories plugged in can drain the battery even when not in use, and that using power outlets for long periods with the engine off may discharge the battery.

Jeep Wrangler fuse box FAQ

Where is the fuse box on a Jeep Wrangler?

In the engine compartment near the battery. The 2026 manual calls it the Power Distribution Center, and its top cover is labeled with each serviceable fuse or relay location, function and size.

What fuse is the horn on a Jeep Wrangler?

F91, a 20 Amp Yellow micro fuse, in both the gasoline engine and hybrid charts.

What fuse is the radio?

F97, a 20 Amp Yellow micro fuse.

What fuse is the cigar lighter on a Wrangler?

F52, a 20 Amp Yellow micro fuse.

How do I make the cargo outlet work only with the ignition on?

The fuse chart notes that the cargo power outlet can be switched from battery-fed power at F43 to position F45, which is fed when the ignition is ON.

Can I use a bigger fuse if one keeps blowing?

No. The manual says to always use the same amp rating and never a higher one. A properly rated fuse that keeps blowing indicates a circuit problem that must be corrected, so contact a dealer.

What are the service department hours?

Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are closed Sunday.
