The 2-door seats four, is shorter and turns tighter, and tows 2,000 lbs; the 4-door seats five, has 31.7 cubic feet behind the rear seat and tows 3,500 lbs, or 5,000 lbs as a properly equipped Rubicon. Then the engine: the V6 with the six-speed manual, or the 2.0L turbo with the automatic for more torque. What's new for 2026

The V8 returns in the 4-door Moab 392, with a cold-air intake hood, two-mode exhaust and 4.56 axles.
The 4xe plug-in hybrid is gone.
A redesigned door hinge system makes removing the doors quicker.
The 2-door Willys offers steel bumpers and a Warn winch, and limited colors and 85th-anniversary editions arrive through the year.

No. Stellantis began phasing out plug-in hybrids in North America with the 2026 model year, and the Wrangler 4xe was removed from the 2026 lineup.

Can I still get a V8 Wrangler?

Yes. The 2026 Wrangler Moab 392 (4-door only) has a 6.4L HEMI V8 rated at 470 hp and 470 lb-ft with an eight-speed automatic, starting at $79,995 MSRP plus a $1,995 destination charge.

Does the Wrangler come with a manual transmission?

Yes. The 3.6L V6 (285 hp, 260 lb-ft) comes with a six-speed manual. An eight-speed automatic is available with the V6 on 4-door models and is standard with the 2.0L turbo and the V8.

How much can a Jeep Wrangler tow?

Up to 5,000 lbs on a properly equipped 4-door Rubicon with the 4.10 axle. Most 4-door models are rated 3,500 lbs and 2-door models 2,000 lbs.

What is the difference between Command-Trac and Rock-Trac?

Command-Trac (Sport, Sahara) is a part-time 4x4 system with a 2.72:1 low range. Rock-Trac (Rubicon) uses a 4.0:1 low range for slower, more controlled crawling and comes in part-time and full-time versions.

Should I get a 2-door or 4-door Wrangler?

The 2-door is shorter, turns tighter and has better breakover clearance on the trail; the 4-door adds a fifth seat, much more cargo room and higher tow ratings. Both are offered in most trims.
