Rubicon trail hardware
Rock-Trac transfer case
A part-time Rock-Trac transfer case with a 4.0:1 low range is standard (2WD High, 4WD High, Neutral, 4WD Low). The 2027 specifications list a full-time Rock-Trac with 4WD Auto as optional on Rubicon.
Front and rear lockers
Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials front and rear, plus Off-Road+ mode, which adjusts throttle, shift points and traction control for the trail.
Sway-bar disconnect
An electronic front sway-bar disconnect frees up front-axle articulation when the terrain calls for it.
Full-float rear axle
A Dana 44 HD full-float rear axle. Jeep says the full-float design carries the vehicle's weight on the axle tube rather than the shaft, which allows tire upsizing and the 5,000-lb tow rating.
33-inch tires
17 x 7.5-inch machined aluminum wheels with black pockets on LT285/70R17C BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, and a 4.10 axle ratio. A 4.88 ratio is optional with the V6 and manual transmission.
Protection and extras
Rock rails, LED headlamps, taillamps and fog lamps, auxiliary switches, and the Trailer Tow with Heavy-Duty Electrical Group. Jeep's 2024 releases also list available steel bumpers with a factory Warn winch.
Trim contents are from Jeep's 2024 Wrangler releases, when the current Rubicon hardware was introduced, and equipment can change by model year. The window sticker on each vehicle lists its exact equipment. Transfer case, axle, wheel and tire details are from the 2027 specifications.
